Compensation claim newsMotorist could make car accident compensation claimA woman whose Ford Fiesta was written off after she was hit by a fire engine speeding through a red light may consider taking her car accident compensation claim to court. Dominique Driver, 19, from Lee-on-Solent, Portsmouth, is considering making a car accident compensation claim after her vehicle, which was being driven by her friend Gemma Hathaway at the time of the car crash, was hit by a fire engine on 10 December 2006. The two escaped sustaining serious personal injuries in the road accident but Miss Hathaway was taken to hospital suffering from minor whiplash. Miss Driver was unable to replace her damaged vehicle because she only had third-party insurance and is now hoping that the fire service with accept liability and pay her road accident compensation. Miss Driver said, "They have told me I might have to go to court if I want to fight my case. I am prepared to do that but I do not know how I can afford it. I need my car to get to work, so I could lose my job because of this." Discussions with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service concerning the car accident compensation claim are still continuing.
