A woman from Wigan has suffered whiplash in unusual circumstances after the plane she was passenger on was in collision with a bus.
The plane had been at Palma airport in Majorca, waiting to take off when it was in the accident with a bus carrying disabled passengers.
The injured woman recalls, "We had just boarded the plane and people were still taking their seats or putting bags in their overhead lockers when the whole plane shuddered and everyone was thrown to one side. People were clearly shaken and several were complaining of minor injuries."
"As a former tour operator representative, I sympathised with the position of the staff at the airport. But I am shocked at how little information we received.
"No medical assistance was available and one passenger reportedly had a fit after the accident."
It is understood that, in what must surely rank as one of the most unlikely whiplashcompensation claims in British legal history, the woman will now commence litigation after incurring significant loss of earnings as a result of her injury. It is also likely that the personal injury solicitor representing her is far more accustomed to dealing with car accident claims for the injury.
