Driver banned for 9 months after causing A37 car crash
A man has been ordered to pay out car accident compensation after he collided with the back of a waiting vehicle, causing the driver to sustain whiplash injuries.
The 41-year-old had been uninsured when he drove his car into the back of a woman's vehicle. The female driver had been indicating to turn right at a junction on the A37. The impact of the collision caused the 41-year-old's car to flip over and left the woman with whiplash.
The man from Oakhill in Somerset pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, insurance, or a valid MOT at South Somerset Magistrates Court.
He told the court that he had been taking the vehicle to the scrap yard at the time of the crash and had failed to see the car in front indicating.
The magistrates fined the man £300 and disqualified him from driving for nine months. He has also been ordered to pay £350 in car accident compensation to the injury victim.
