Fatal car accident in Sussex leads to teenage driver's arrest
A teenage driver from Horsham has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after her passenger died in a car crash near Chichester.
The car accident occurred on Saturday when the girl's car collided with a tractor and trailer. Police and paramedics hurried to the scene and took the passenger, a 20-year-old woman, to St Richards Hospital, where she died from personal injury suffered in the crash.
The driver herself suffered only minor injuries; the driver of the tractor was not hurt. Police have not released names at the time of writing while they inform next of kin.
Following the road traffic accident, the A27 was closed for five hours, causing major delays, while police searched for evidence.
