Raging bull in kamikaze collision with car
A 20-year-old trainee police officer has suffered whiplash in a freak accident in which a bull charged at his vehicle, causing it to become to written-off.
Commenting on the whiplash bull incident, the man, who was returning home from work at the time of incident, said, "I was driving and I noticed a section of the road where the lights were out and suddenly I saw this big bull charging towards my car.
"It was already on the road and I think it was grazing, but when I went by in the car it turned around and charged at me. I couldn't believe it. It was really scary.
"I had a lucky escape as had the bull had come through my windscreen I would have been crushed."
A spokesperson from Durham Police commented that the bull did not escape so lightly, "Police received a report that a car had been involved in a collision with an animal.
"The animal was fatally injured and was lying in the road. The County Council was called to sand the road and the owner of the animal removed the carcass."
As the man's whiplash has been described as "severe" he may yet decide to claim personal injury compensation.
