Seven charged over 2008 road traffic accident

Seven people have been charged over their part in a 2008 car crash that claimed the lives of three people, including a 12-year-old girl.

Four men in their late teens have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two of whom have also been accused of perverting the cause of justice.  Three further people also face the latter charge over their alleged involvement with the car accident.

All have been released on police bail, and will face a hearing on the 2nd March.  A Derbyshire police inspector said, "This investigation has taken significant steps forward."

The incident occurred on the A52 on a stretch of road that had seen 16 accidents in the three years prior to this road traffic accident.  Several other people received personal injury in the car crash.
