Biker paralysed in bus crash seeks compensation for injuries

A motorcyclist has launched a claim for road traffic accident compensation after he was left with severe personal injuries following a bus crash in Plymouth.

The man had been riding his Honda motorbike early one morning close to the City College in Plymouth when he was hit by a bus which drove into his path.

The accident which took place in April 2010 left the biker with fractures in both his shoulders and a severe spinal injury which has left him paralysed. As a result of his severe injuries he still experiences painful muscle spasms and is wheelchair bound.

The injured man is now seeking £500,000 in road traffic accident compensation from the insurers of the bus company.

In a writ submitted to the High Court in London, the man is claiming that the bus driver had failed to safely cross the road resulting in the crash.

Any road traffic accident compensation awarded to the biker will go towards care costs and his new accommodation requirements.
