Two doctors from Yorkshire who were married to each other have been killed in a motorcycle accident this Sunday while on holiday in Florida. Their families have expressed their devastation and sorrow.
They were in Florida with their three children when the motorbike crash occurred, in which a truck hit their Harley Davidson.
The wife had been a GP in a local surgery, and the husband a cardiac consultant in Barnsley's NHS Trust. Colleagues at the hospital described the motorcycle accident as "a shocking blow".
The children were in the hotel at the time of the road traffic accident. The UK Foreign Office says it is aware of the incident, but no comment has been made regarding any potential compensation claim.
