New mother may seek car crash claim in Scotland

A woman and her new-born baby may be making a car crash claim after the vehicle in which they were travelling was in collision with another car on the A7 near Hawick in the Scottish Borders,

The mother was taken to Borders General Hospital in Melrose, Scotland, where her baby was delivered. Both were said to be in a serious medical condition 24 hours after the road traffic accident.

The male driver of the Honda Civic carrying the mother suffered a serious leg injury and had to be cut free from the wreckage.

Minor injuries were sustained by the other driver in the collision who was at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf.

A police spokesman said they were seeking witnesses to the vehicle collision and would particularly like to speak to the driver of a small red car. Once the circumstances have been established, a car crash claim for compensation could be brought by some of the victims.
