A London man has been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in a car accident with a pub this weekend.
The pub in question, the Plough in Waltham Abbey, was struck by a blue Fiat Stilo in the early hours of Sunday morning, but when the emergency services arrived, the car crash scene was deserted.
A fire crew spent an hour helping to tidy the area.
A man was later arrested a short distance away, and charged with failing to provide a breath test specimen for analysis, and with failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He was subsequently bailed.
