Compensation for man hit by a supermarket delivery van

A motorcyclist has been awarded road traffic accident compensation after being hit by a supermarket van.

The man had been riding his motorbike when he was struck by the supermarket delivery van in April 2009. As a result of the crash he suffered serious personal injuries and was in an induced coma for four days.

Due to the severity of his injuries his family had been told that he would need to spend four to five months in hospital, however, remarkably, he recovered faster than anticipated in the space of six weeks.

During this time he was still required to undergo surgical procedures on his arm, legs and hips.
He has also been forced to give up his job and limit his active lifestyle as a result of his personal injuries.

The man has since been awarded an undisclosed amount in road traffic accident compensation from the insurers of the van driver.
