Scotsman compensated for injuries sustained in car crash

A man has been awarded more than £54,000 in car accident compensation after suffering personal injuries in a car crash during a trip to Europe.

The 53-year-old engineering manager had been travelling as a passenger in a car in Romania when it collided with a van in June 2008. The man was left with severe personal injuries in the accident including a spinal fracture.

He returned home to Bridge of Don in Aberdeen before seeking medical attention and then went on to launch a claim for compensation against the insurers of the driver.

The man had been in Romania carrying out a technical audit on a potential new supplier when the crash took place. It was the factory manager he had gone to meet who had been driving the car at the time of the accident on the way back to the airport.

?During the court case in Edinburgh, he revealed that he still suffers from pain in his lower back as a result of the accident.

The injury victim has since been awarded £54,325 in car accident compensation.
