Lohan walks free from court

Controversial US movie star Lindsay Lohan has escaped having to pay car accident compensation to another motorist after the man suing her failed to turn up in court.

The 21-year-old actress was involved in a road accident in 2005 in which she collided with another car whilst driving through the streets of Beverly Hills. It is not thought that anybody suffered personal injuries in the car crash but the driver of the damaged vehicle still insisted on pursuing a car accident compensation claim against the Mean Girls star.

The judge presiding over the road accident claim threw the case out, however, when the petitioner didn't arrive at court to give evidence against Lohan. The actress was visibly pleased to have escaped having to fight the compensation claim but declined to comment on the matter to waiting journalists.
