Causes uncertain in horse death car crash

It is unclear whether a woman whose horse died in a car crash in Shropshire recently will be able to make a claim for car accident compensation, as the cause of the collision has yet to be established.

The incident occurred in Weston Heath near Telford and the driver of the car, reported as a man in his twenties, was taken to the major trauma centre of a hospital in Birmingham via air ambulance. He was suffering from a serious head injury and facial injuries.

Although it is unclear whether she owned the deceased horse, the rider involved was briefly knocked unconscious in the car accident and suffered hand and wrist injuries; she was flown to a nearby hospital.

The doctor who treated the man at scene said there was significant damage to the car which the man had been driving.

Police will continue to carry out their enquiries into the accident, and if the car driver is at fault in the incident, the woman may wish to make a claim for compensation against his insurers as a result of her personal injuries and any losses she may have incurred as a result.
