Hong Kong company to pay out bus accident compensation
The relatives of three Hong Kong residents who sustained fatal personal injuries in a bus accident in Shenzhen are planning to launch a compensation claim against the bus company.
The fatal bus accident took place in a car park near the busy border crossing of Lo Wu immigration control point.
Witnesses state that the long-distance coach had been moving slowly to make its way out of the car park when it suddenly shot out forward, mounting the pavement and ploughing into a crowd of pedestrians.
It is thought that the driver of the bus, who has been arrested by police, had accidentally stepped on the accelerator rather than the brake.
Five people, including the three Hong Kong residents, sustained fatal personal injuries in the bus accident.
The families of victims have since met with the bus company to demand an explanation for the bus accident as well as to seek compensation.
Following the meeting, the manager from the bus company has assured the families that compensation will be paid out for the bus accident.
