Head-on bus accident results in death of car driver
A bus accident in Southampton resulted in fatal injuries to the 46-year-old driver of a car and life-threatening passenger injury to the other man in his vehicle.
The head-on crash happened at a junction in the busy Portswood area of the city and involved a Bluestar double-decker bus which was carrying ten passengers, none of whom was hurt.
The victims in the green Daewoo Espero had to be cut free from the wreckage by fire officers with the injured man being taken to Southampton General Hospital by paramedics after the incident, which occurred during the morning rush-hour.
No one from the bus company has made a comment to the press about the road traffic accident and police are appealing for witnesses.
Once inquiries are complete, the injured passenger may wish to consult a no win no fee solicitor with a view to making a compensation claim from whoever is deemed at fault.
