Appeal court to decide on cyclist's compensation claim
The family of a young man who has been left with life-changing personal injuries following a car crash has launched a claim for road traffic accident compensation.
The claimant who was 16-years-old at the time of the car accident had been riding his bicycle to work in Bristol when he was knocked over by a car in November 2005.
The cyclist sustained a serious head injury in the accident and is now wheelchair bound and will require extensive round-the-clock care for the rest of his life.
The mother, on behalf of her son, launched a claim for road traffic accident compensation against the insurer of the driver, claiming that his negligence was to blame for the car accident.
It has since been ruled that the driver had been 66% responsible for the accident, meaning the young victim, who is now 21-years-old and living in Devon, could be entitled to a seven-figure sum of road traffic accident compensation.
