Personal injury newsA man has been awarded compensation after childhood injury in a road traffic accident. The 23-year-old man from Swindon suffered serious injuries when he was involved in a road traffic accident fifteen years ago. The man suffered serious head injuries which left him in hospital for over a month – he suffered a week-long coma. The incident took place in a residential area as the boy played with his brother. A car travelling through the area at high speed ran into the boy as he was playing. It was later revealed that the driver of the vehicle should not have been licensed to drive due to his bad eye sight. The victim has since regained his ability to walk and talk but has severe learning difficulties. Now, 15 years later, the victim has been awarded more than £1 million pounds in road traffic accident compensation for his pain, suffering, care costs and loss of earnings.
