Car crash compensation news
22/05/2009 Solicitor launches cobbler's injury claim
A personal injury solicitor representing a shop owner who lost a leg after being hit by a reckless driver have issued a writ asking for more than £300,000 in car crash compensation.
The 38-year-old had been standing outside his London shop in 2006 when a Volkswagen driver mounted the pavement and crashed into him.
Since then he has had to undergo 12 operations, spent more than three and half months in hospital and had a prosthetic leg fitted. His car crash compensation writ outlines how he has lost the enjoyment of being able to play football and squash. He is also being treated for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
It is also likely that he will have to be medically retired from his job as a cobbler.
It remains to be seen whether the car crash compensation case will be settled out of court.
