Learner flips car on second lesson

After only getting behind the driver's wheelseat for the second time, one young driver had a driving lesson she'll never forget after flipping her instructor's car upside down on a driveway.

The female driver, aged in her twenties, was driving a brand new Fiat 500 when she performed a high speed u-turn straight into a garden gate in Headington, Oxfordshire.

Witnesses to the scene said that the driver was turning right from a standstill with the steering wheel on full lock when she accelerated hard, causing the car to mount the driveway and flip over.

The owner of the driveway where the car landed said, "It's a relatively unusual way to announce your arrival in front of someone's house on a Sunday morning."

Thankfully no one was hurt in the car accident although the instructor and his pupil were said to be slightly shaken from the ordeal.

Although the police took no action against the young driver, it may be some time before she's brave enough to try another three-point turn following her first car crash.
