Pop singer to defend car accident compensation action
American Pop star Brandy Norwood is facing a car crash claim over her part in a 2006 collision in which a woman was killed.
It is the second time that Norwood has had to defend a car crash claim relating to the incident. In addition, she will also have to defend an accompanying claim after it emerged that another motorist involved in the accident is suing for "serious and permanent injuries".
The pop star has sought to vigorously defend both car crash claims. Her lawyers issued a statement: "If the plaintiff suffered or sustained damages as alleged in the complaint, those damages were proximately caused and contributed to by the plaintiff by his failure to conduct himself in a manner ordinarily expected of reasonable prudent persons".
Media outlets report that no win, no fee solicitors representing the family of the woman killed are seeking to secure around £33.5 million wrongful death personal injury compensation.
