Car accident compensation news
04/12/2009 Rally driver makes car crash claim
A former Scottish rally champion is making a car accident compensation claim for around £2 million damages for a crash he alleges was caused by inadequate rally route notes.
However, the defendant in the car accident compensation case, a specialist map company, denies liability for the incident and counters that the accident was in fact caused by the claimant's decision to negotiate a bend at an unsafe speed.
The claimant says that he has lost confidence in the route notes provided and, as a result, has retired from competitive rallying.
The case is being heard at Edinburgh Court of Session.
His condition, which is typical to many car crash victims, has been described as an "adjustment disorder".
Personal injury lawyers representing the car accident compensation claimant say that before the accident he was a "confident, astute, successful and hard-working businessman", but that he is now lacking in confidence and the ability to concentrate or motivate himself.
