The 18-year-old was hit by a car when she was eight years old in her home town of Kirkcaldy, when she walking home and struck by a taxi.
She suffered a fractured skull and brain damage which has left her with memory and emotional problems and cognitive difficulties.
The girl, who is now a mother to an eight-month-old son, had wanted to be a nurse but her injuries greatly affected her academic abilities and she was unable to get the necessary qualifications required to become a nurse.
