A professional footballer whose car crash injuries have forced him into premature retirement from the game has said that he will seek car accident compensation for the 2008 incident.
The Yeovil Town midfielder had been a passenger in a van when it collided with another vehicle, being driven by a pub landlord.
The 30-year-old suffered multiple injuries in the crash and, following eight operations to treat them, has finally admitted defeat in his efforts to return to the football field.
The no win, no fee solicitor who is representing his car accident compensation case commented, "[My client] has started court proceedings against the other driver.
"At the moment there's a dispute about who was responsible for the accident. There's nothing more I can really add to that."
And, although the footballer has now embarked on a career in coaching for the club at which he made more than 270 appearances, it is likely that any car accident compensation settlement he secures will include a significant component for loss of earnings.
