Teenager's compensation hopes
A teenager from Suffolk is making a car accident claim for the paralysing spinal injury he suffered when his motor scooter was in collision with a Mercedes.
The 19-year-old's car accident claim writ states that he is seeking unlimited damages for the incident, in which he was thrown onto the Mercedes' windscreen, suffering serious head and spinal injuries.
As a result of his crash injuries, he is now paralysed from the chest down and reliant on the care of others.
He is hoping to receive sums for pain and suffering, loss of amenity, lost earnings, care and assistance, case management, accommodation, aids, equipment, and medical treatment; if successful, it is likely that the case will be settled for between £2 million and £3 million.
It is alleged that the defendant was negligent on several counts, including failing to keep adequate lookout, failing to engage a horn and driving too fast.
The defendant has been named by the claimant's no win, no fee solicitor as the employer of the Mercedes driver.
