Last weekend saw a collision between two Cornish 4x4 drivers, resulting in whiplash injuries and shock for the occupants, and closed the main road for more than an hour during the rush hour.
The car crash, which occurred at 7.25am, was severe enough to trigger the airbags in both vehicles, and caused the emergency services to be brought out. However, one passenger was thought to have escaped without personal injury, and the whiplash injuries are thought to be minor for the other occupants. An older passenger was also reported as suffering chest pains.
All were taken to Torbay hospital to be checked over and treated for the effects of whiplash. The road was re-opened around 9am.
