Motorcycle newsAccident fear following discovery of Yamaha transmission problemYamaha has issued a recall warning for its XV1600 Wild Star amid fears that the transmission could lock whilst the bike is being ridden. The problem has the potential to cause a motorbike accident and the Japanese manufacturers are keen to get the problem fixed before a rider is seriously hurt. According to reports in Motorcycle News, all owners will soon be sent a letter telling them how to get the fault with the gearbox fixed. The popular biking paper also reveals that Yamaha has ordered the recall of all XT660s, MT01s, R1s, FJR1300s, FZ6s, TDM900s and XV1700s produced between 2002 and 2005 because of a throttle position sensor problem that could cause the bike to unexpectedly stall. |
