Bikers badly hurt in 2 accidents at same spot in 24 hours

A motorcyclist was left fighting for his life after the second motorbike accident at the same UK location within 24 hours.

An air ambulance attended the crash after the man, aged in his 40s, suffered serious chest and head injuries as a result of a "significant collision", said ambulance staff.

In a critical condition, the biker was airlifted to hospital from Stanmore's Stourbridge Road on the A458, according to press reports.

Midlands Air Ambulance, an incident support officer and a land-based ambulance were reported to have attended the scene to try to treat the motorbike injuries.

Hospital treatment was not required for the female driver of the car who was treated for shock at the scene.

It is believed the motorcyclist was travelling in the opposite direction to the woman's oncoming car, leading to his severe injuries.

In another motorbike accident the day before, involving a car on the same road - this time a 4X4 - two people were transported by air ambulance to hospital with serious multiple leg injuries.
