Settlement makes significant difference to couple

Motorcycle injury compensation of £1.7 million has been awarded in the case of a man who suffered brain injury after being hit by a van travelling down a one-way street.

The motorcycle injury compensation settlement will allow the injured man, a 24-year-old former chef, to be cared for at home by his wife and a team of carers. Much of the £1.7 million lump sum will be put towards making specialist adaptations to the couple's home.

Another, ongoing, payment of £225,000 a year to fund nursing care will be paid for the duration of the injured man's life.

His wife commented, "It has been a long, hard slog.

"It was a stressful and exhausting battle but when we finally got home, I felt such an overwhelming sense of happiness.

"We're both so much more relaxed now we're at home. It's the happiest I've seen him since the accident."

The motorcycle injury compensation case was settled, with the assistance of a personal injury solicitor, at the High Court in Birmingham.
