A Lincolnshire nurse who received serious personal injury in a motorcycle crash last year has been interviewed by her local paper about 'coming back from the dead'.
Her 600cc motorcycle was involved in a car crash with a Vauxhall Corsa in July 2008, dragging the woman under the car and causing accident injury so severe that her heart stopped three times during treatment, elements of which are ongoing still. Fire-fighters were able to enlist the help of passers-by to lift the car off the injured woman by hand, and she was rushed to hospital where her personal injury was treated.
The woman describes the positive outlook that her motorbike accident has given her, saying, "My view of the world has changed. If it's raining outside when I pull open the curtains in the morning I say 'it's a nice day today'."
The 76-year-old driving the Corsa was fined £650 and awarded six points on her licence after admitting that her careless driving had caused the motorcycle crash.
