Six-figure claim win for motorcyclist

A motorcycling club in Nottingham has been ordered to payout motorcycle accident compensation to a man who lost his leg as a result of an accident at one of its events.

The 30-year-old had been due to compete in one of the club's races but suffered his injury when he collided with a rider who was performing a wheelie at 60 mph.

The judge hearing the motorcycle accident compensation case blamed the race's organisers for failing to provide marshals to supervise the day's proceedings.

However, the club argued that the accident was caused solely by the man performing the wheelie. They commented, "We do not think the judgement was right, but it is out of our hands."

The claimant's personal injury solicitor secured his client a six-figure sum of motorcycle accident compensation, and the club has been refused permission to appeal.
