Who is this woman living in my house?

Some of us might now and then wish that our other half would disappear for a bit. Not for ever, of course, but just for long enough to allow us to ride as much and as fast as we want, eat as many fry-ups as we like and neck as much beer as we want to.

It might sound like a dream to some but for one Chinese man it's turned into something of a nightmare.

Wei Guangyi from Xinyang City in central China was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him in hospital for two days before he awoke with rather a strange condition; he could remember everybody except his wife.

His spouse of nine years was understandably upset at this and explained the bizarre situation to a local journalist, saying, "He pointed at me and asked my daughter, "Who is this woman?" I was so surprised to hear that."

She also told how her domestic situation has changed as a direct result of the motorbike accident and said, "When he is changing, he pushes me out of the room, and tells me every time that I shouldn't cook for him as I'm a guest of his house."

A doctor at a local hospital was unable to explain how the head injuries that Wei Guangyi suffered in the motorcycle accident have resulted in his bizarre condition.

A spokesman from BP365, the no win, no fee motorbike accident compensation claim specialists, heard about the Chinese man's plight and said, "I really hope he remembers who his wife is soon."
