Crash leaves 8-year-old pillion passenger in hospital

A motorbike accident in Bradford has left a 48-year-old biker and an eight-year-old boy, riding as a pillion passenger, seriously injured after they collided with a car.

Travelling on a red Kawasaki motor-bike, the pair were involved in a collision on Sunday morning with a Volkswagen Golf which failed to stop at the scene.

The car was later found abandoned by police in a nearby side street. The driver has yet to be found.

The two casualties are said to be in a stable condition after they both had to undergo surgery on the injuries they sustained from the traffic accident.

Police are currently investigating the crash and are appealing for any witnesses to the incident. They also wish to speak to anyone who may know the identity of the driver or who may have seen the Golf before the crash occurred.

Anyone with information regarding the motorbike accident should call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Bradford South Roads Police on 0845 60 60 606.
