New BMW concept bike helps prevent accidents

A new concept car designed by BMW could help protect the rider in the event of a motorbike accident.

The three-wheel vehicle named "Simple" looks like a cross between a car and a bike yet is supposed to run and feel essentially like a motorbike.

With an enclosed seat, the design is intended to keep riders protected from the weather and less vulnerable in the event of a motorcycle crash.

Despite its car-like shape, the bike can still lean to a 45 degree angle around corners and is remarkably lightweight and low on energy.

With a zero to 60 time of less than ten seconds, this new-age bike is pretty nippy as well and, at 43 inches wide, it is still slim enough to slip past heavy traffic.

Thanks to its three wheels, the bike is also likely to be more stable on the roads than standard bikes making motorbike accidents less likely.
