Injury compensation newsMan makes motorbike accident claim for serious injuriesA motorcyclist who was left with serious personal injuries after a 12-year-old boy played chicken in the road has contacted a personal injury solicitor and made a compensation claim. Antony Young, 37, of Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire was involved in a motorbike accident on 8th April 2006, which killed a boy who had been playing a daredevil game with his friends on the A4174 dual carriageway. The boy reportedly ran across the road as a van approached and failed to notice that it was being overtaken by Mr Young's Suzuki. Mr Young was unable to stop his motorcycle in time and collided with the young boy, hitting him at approximately 50mph. The boy was rushed to hospital but died three days later from his motorcycle injuries. Mr Young suffered severe injuries in the road accident, including broken ribs, a punctured lung, bruising to the heart, a shoulder injury and ongoing physiological trauma. Following the motorbike accident he has since made an injury claim with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). Personal injury solicitor, Andrew Campbell, said that he believed the motorcycle accident claim was the first time a person had made a case for injuries sustained in a vehicle accident where the guilty party had been killed. The boy's family were unavailable to comment on the road accident claim. |
