Warwick blackspot sees another fatal motorcycle crash
A notorious accident blackspot near Warwick has seen another fatal motorcycle crash this weekend. A 29-year old motorcyclist was struck by a Fiat people carrier, and debris from the crash hit a Jaguar travelling in the opposite direction.
A passing paramedic attempted to save the biker's life before the ambulances arrived, but was unable to do so.
This stretch of the B4455 has been known as a site of several serious personal injury incidents over recent history, including another fatal road traffic accident involving an 18-year-old girl. This victim's mother is campaigning to make this road safer, saying:"With an increase in the number of cars on our roads, we need more signs to alert drivers at accident blackspots. I intend to do everything possible with the help of many people to prevent needless deaths and other families experiencing the grief we are at this time."
Despite this, this section of the B4455 is not yet on the list of roads whose speed limit is to be reduced from 60 to 50 miles per hour, with the intention of reducing the number of car and motorcycle crashes that occur upon it.
