Bees attempt to collect pollen from scooter

A woman in China was lucky to escape unscathed last week after hundreds of bees took a fancy to her motorbike's saddle.

The saddle was painted with beautifully coloured flowers and the flying insects took it upon themselves to try and collect pollen from the artwork as she rode through the streets of Shenyang in the province of Liaoning.

Finding herself under attack from the stripy stingers, the young woman screamed for help and quick-thinking passers-by summoned the local fire brigade. Firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to rescue the woman from the besieged scooter.

It is believed she survived the incident without receiving a single sting.
