Personal injury news
A mother has spoken of her pride after the donation of her son's organs helped save the lives of five people.
Nathan Hudson was killed in a car accident last September as his vehicle careered off a road in Milnrow, in Rochdale. Nathan died in hospital from the serious personal injuries he sustained in the road accident and his mother was given the decision of donating his organs. Ms Hudson said, "Nathan always carried a donor card and although it was a very hard decision to make, I agreed to donate his organs because it was what he would have wanted." A 17-month-old girl suffering from liver cancer and a 48-year-old man with kidney problems have been amongst some of the people to receive Nathan's organs following the car accident. Ms Hudson added, "I'm very proud of my son, although it goes without saying that I wish he could have helped people in another way. I would encourage everybody to carry a donor card."To find out more about organ donation visit www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/
