Your right to car accident compensation

One of the most common reasons for making a compensation claim is following a car accident. For most people who are injured in this way, however, previous experience of civil litigation is minimal or non-existent. Fear and worry about what the process may involve can sometimes prevent them from claiming the car accident compensation that they have a right to.

Free legal advice – and reassurance
An important part of our service is to provide anyone who has been hurt in a non-fault car accident with as much information and advice as they need. Hefty documentation and legal jargon can be intimidating, and a few words of explanation can often prove extremely reassuring.

Frequently asked questions
If you are currently considering making a car accident compensation claim, then you may find these commonly asked questions and answers helpful. If there is anything else you need to know, we’re here 24 hours a day so call us at anytime.

Can I make a claim if there was no police prosecution against the other party?
Even where the police have not prosecuted the other party for their actions, you can still make a claim for car accident compensation.

Who is entitled to claim compensation?
In a nutshell anyone who can answer yes to these three questions can make a claim:

  • Have you been injured in an accident which was (at least partly) not your fault?
  • Can you demonstrate that you were injured and/or suffered hardship as a result?

However, every case is unique, so call us even if you feel you don’t fit these criteria.

Will I have to go to Court?
The vast majority of car accident compensation cases never get as far as the Courtroom – 98% are settled well in advance of this. However, certain circumstances can mean that it is in your best interests to go to Court, but our solicitor will advise you as to whether this is likely in your case.

How much compensation will I get?
This very much depends on the nature of your injuries and the circumstances of the car accident. See Compensation amounts for a guide to likely compensation awards, or ask our personal injury solicitors.

What should I do first?
Your first step is to call us straightway. Once we have all the relevant details and you decide that you wish to pursue a claim for accident compensation then we can start acting on your behalf straightway.
